Jenny Musker
VPRMS
As a trained wildlife illustrator, Jenny has been exhibiting locally in Aberdeenshire and internationally for over twenty five years. She creates informative compositions in watercolour, gouache and pencil. The work is highly detailed wildlife art, varying from large watercolour compositions on hot press papers to miniature works, which are produced on Polymin. Polymin is a specialist translucent man-made archival base, which feels like the surface of ping pong ball, very shiny! Many of her pieces are painted not much larger 4”x6” including frame.
Awards:
Jenny has won many awards including the Anita Emmerich Presentation Award for ‘Perfection in every aspect’, the ‘Presidents Special Commendation Award for a Miniature’, the ‘The Group Award’ for (the best set of five or more miniatures) and in 2024 ‘The Presidents Special Commendation for a Large Work’.
Jenny was also commissioned by the Balmoral Estate to produce a large wildlife watercolour study of Balmoral Castle which was made into a Christmas card. The design was so popular that a reprint was ordered. In 2024 another proud moment as a new miniature artwork was commissioned for another Christmas card. This artwork was titled ‘A Winter Gathering” and depicts red squirrels in a snow scene with Balmoral Castle in the background. She also sells a variety of miniature wildlife cards all year round in the Balmoral Shop and nearby Crathie Art Gallery.
